Charley Creek Gardens is proud to be a Let's Move! Garden. Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative, launched by First Lady Michelle Obama, dedicated to solving the problem of childhood obesity within a generation. Charley Creek Gardens is one of the first gardens in Indiana to be designated a Let's Move! Garden and the only one in Northeast Indiana!

We have over 6 acres of formal and naturalized gardens. There is open lawn space for free play and a ½ mile trail for walking. One feature in the Gardens is a maze made out of arborvitae shrubs. It provides a fun and interesting way to be active! We also have an Education Center with a fully functioning kitchen where we host programs and provide healthy refreshments.

Some of the events and programs we offer include:

*YuleTime Stroll–      A winter walk through the Gardens lit with thousands of

*Winter Walks–          Guided walks focused on discovering trees and shrubs that
can ad interest to your landscape during the winter.

*Seed Exchange–       Exchange seeds with other gardeners while
discovering new varieties of vegetables and flowers to grow.

*Scavenger Hunts–    Available every day, scavenger hunts are a great way to explore the Gardens.

*School Programs–     Area pre-schoolers and kindergarteners come every year to                                                  enjoy the gardens.

*Special Events, Talks and Programs throughout the year!

Look for a Let's Move Kick-Off event later in the spring!

The Charley Creek Gardens consist of almost 7 acres of naturalized and formal gardens located in the heart of Wabash, IN.  The gardens are open for self-guided walking tours from dawn to dusk every day of the year.  There are special celebrations throughout the seasons–including a Yule Time Stroll during the Christmas Holiday Season.  The Garfield Wildflower Meadow, a labyrinth, hedge maze, cutting garden and waterfall are all features of this peaceful setting. Take a walk through the gardens, bring you dog (on a leash), enjoy the scenery and breathtaking beauty of nature.
